In the fourth instalment of our monthly cocktail recipe blog, two-time flair bartending world champion Tom Dyer shows you how to make a mouth-watering banana colada cocktail - perfect any time of the year.

Tom’s delicious recipe is quick and easy to make, thanks to the inclusion of the ODK coconut puree and banana puree.

So, what do you need to make a banana colada?

Banana Colada Ingredients

Equipment
10ml ODK Coconut Puree Tiki Glass or Skull Glass
10ml ODK Banana Puree Spirit Pourer
50ml White Rum Juice Pour-and-Store
40ml Pineapple Juice Tin-On-Tin Boston Cocktail Shaker Set
1 Pineapple Wedge Hawthorne Strainer
2-3 Pineapple LeavesIce Scoop
Cubed IceDrinking Straws

Method

  • Fill your glass to the brim with cubed ice.
  • Pour your white rum directly into the larger Boston shaker can using a spirit pourer.
  • Squeeze the ODK coconut and banana purees into the can.
  • Add the pineapple juice from your pour-and-store into the can and get ready to shake.
  • Lock the smaller Boston shaker tin into your can and vigorously shake for around 3-5 seconds. Shaking for too long can dilute the flavour of your drink.
  • Unlock the shaker and strain into your glass using a hawthorne strainer.

  • Garnish with a pineapple wedge, also known as a pineapple ‘flag’, and a handful of pineapple leaves to add extra colour to your drink.
  • Finish off with a straw. Your delicious banana colada is now ready to serve. Enjoy!
