Welcome
to our third Product Knowledge 101 post. This week we are talking about Table Linen and the multitude of
options available to you when choosing yours.
When
choosing table linen you have three main options with regards to the material
you pick; Polyester, PVC or Satin.
Polyester
table cloths are hardwearing and easy to wash and iron and they benefit from
the added bonus of feeling like cotton to the touch.
PVC
table cloths are wipe-clean and there is no need to launder or iron them – they
will last a long time and have non-slip felt backing.
Table
cloths made from satin are the luxury option – they may stain and need careful
laundering and ironing, but they will look pristine on the table.
Table
linen is available in thousands of different designs from plain, to spotted,
embroidered, striped, or embossed. Pick the design that suits the feel of your
establishment – those who are looking for an american-diner feel could go for
PVC cloths with a gingham pattern, whilst the expensive Italian establishment
might go for rose-embossed satin table cloths.
Table
skirting is also available to
help cover table legs, and table
protectors can be placed underneath
table linen to protect surfaces.
Whatever
table linen you choose, ensure you have enough to replace those that encounter
unexpected spillages.
That’s
it for todays product knowledge. Last time: Cutlery. Next time: Food
Labels.
